When a PV system is installed your electricity meter must be replaced with one that can read how much electircity has been exported. This is different to the amount generated because your generation goes first to what you are consuming then surplas is exported. (this is Net feeding tariff)
.
This is then read by the meter reader and the information given to your provider. On your bill will be itemised your consumption (reading 3), your off peak (reading 7) and your exported electricity (reading 9)
ETSA utilities install these meters and they will charge you a seperate fee to them for this service. There will be a time between solar panel install and when the meter is installed. This is just a waiting time and is not controlable by us hence you may feel you are out of pocket for not being able to export but this is the process.
You will not recieve State rebate(.16c) until this meter is installed.
